DISH OF THE DAY
We are an unexpectedly and uncommonly kickass combination. A family of six fiercely independent restaurants, we each have our own distinct personality and specialties.
But we all share a single, unapologetic passion: Serving food and drinks people love. And loving the community and planet we came from.
As a general rule, we’re anti-rules. Except for these four important exceptions — which we prefer to call ideals. (See how much nicer that sounds?) and we always make sure our spots have the best music!
NOBODY PUTS BABY IN A CORNER.
Everyone’s welcome in our restaurants. That goes for the people who sit at our tables, and the people who serve them. It goes for our punk-rock regulars, and their parents who come in from the burbs. We’re not into leaving people out — especially not in the cold. (So make room at the bar, wouldya?)
SHOW YOUR MOM SOME RESPECT.
Mother Earth, that is. We’re dedicated to sourcing and serving food and running our restaurants in the kindest way we can for our environment. We’re on track to be “zero waste” by the end of 2011 — taking a holistic approach to reusing the products in our restaurants through recycling, composting, and more.
WE HAVE THE POWER.
Not just to make people fall in love at first sight with a slice o’ meatloaf — but to make real social change. We engage in causes our restaurants and employees connect to, from Ohio Local Foods Week to Mended Little Hearts’ National Heart Defect Awareness Day, all with one goal: leaving our community better than we found it.
BUSINESS IS PERSONAL.
Lucky for us, many of our employees have made restaurant life their life’s work, too. We believe they’re more than deserving of the benefits of a 9-5, including health insurance, weekends at the spa, vacation time, a credit union program, and deep discounts on all the Pumpkin Love and other menu items they can handle.
